@ Don.  I have the iron I need the cap iron. Unless you are suggesting  I use the  Lee Valley Iron alone. Sure, that would work  but this wooden plane I have was designed for  a double Iron.
I could just use the tapered buck Iron I have.  However Lee Valley also sells a cap iron:

and has free shipping right now. So beats the Hock cap iron price, which would add $10 shipping, but otherwise  about the same cost.

@ Glen. I am in contact with Ron Hock. 


I guess I have two options now to think about.

Just get a piece if steel, slight bend, one tapped hole and a bevel.
