So...finally spinning wood on this lathe. Funny thing is, I've had a large modern Craftsman in storage now for quite some time, and it just doesn't excite me. But getting this beat up old W-T back into service has me wanting to spin. I just turned this scrap piece of Ipe into a vise handle for Paul M.. Gonna turn the ends for it next, then I think I'll make myself a longer tool rest. I regret now, all the lathe things I sold when I got the Craftsman, chucks, and such. But oh well, live and learn.

Well....the lathe might be "looking new", but my turning skills leave a lot to be desired. It has been 40 some odd years since I did any lathe work, so its like learning all over again. Fun, though.

I have also been trying to get back into turning. The skew chisel has been challenging and sometimes frightening.
I really want to handle up this curved drawknife.
First try would not center worth a hoot.
It may be a file handle.
Chucking up try #2.
