Bob Summerfield aka Rocky Mountain Saw Works restored this saw for me a few moths ago. It is a Jackson from around 1875 or so and it goes with a Langdon Mitre box

I have a lot of mitre boxes but I'm not a collector [rolleyes]

Wow. That would outshine my cadre of Jacksons!

I've got 8"-16" but have not been able to get the restos done. Mine are slightly after yours - no split nuts, but 3 of the 5 have cast screws and 2 are turned from solid. So far I've been able to determine 5 types, with yours being the earliest type I have been able to see.

Gads...that is a gorgeous saw. Don't see many split nut saws that clean up that nice. Bob is currently sharpening my Simonds 2 x 16 for me.
