Here are two of my favorite Keen Kutters. I call them half brothers, a K5 1/2 and a K4 1/2. They were manufactured by Stanley for the Simmons Hardware Company. Their construction is the same as Stanley's Type 4 Bed Rocks. They are all original. I only cleaned them up. The 5 1/2 is a bragging plane because I purchased it in a lot with two other planes for a wopping $34. The 4 1/2 was a bit more dear at just north of $100.

Yeah Glen, I'm very pleased on how they came out. I hit the rosewood lightly with some #0000 and then re-floated the shellac with a tight cotton cloth and alcohol. The figure on the K4 1/2 just pops in the sun. And yes Don definitely a couple of keepers. I don't think that I'll ever be able to upgrade from here.
